Show Dream Comes True 0-841 Parsons Street Grandville, Mich. 49418 February 4, 1973 H. C. McConaughy Editor & Publisher The Park Record Park City, Utah 840G0 Dear Mr. McConaughy: Our family fell in love with ttie West one summer about 15 years ago when we took our first motoring vacation to the mountains. moun-tains. Every summer since, has been spent exploring the wonders, and beauty, of the West. As our three children grew older, we also headed west to the mountains again every winter for the Great skiing(be-i:ig skiing(be-i:ig ski nuts). Now our long time dream has come true, and we've bought ourselves a little part of Utah! We're so happy & excited about it that I hope you don't mind my writing to introduce ourselves our-selves to you, and the people of the community that we're looking forward to becoming a part of. My husband and I have just recently purchased the Hidden Haven Motel & Campground from Bob and Thelma McComb. We plan to eventually remodel and enlarge the motel area for more sleeping capacity on a year-round basis. It's frustrating for Bud & me that we won't personally be able to live there for a few years yet, but we'll have to stay here in Grand Rapids, Mich., to help on the financial end of our new business. It's still a family venture however, as our son, Steve Dinger and his bride, Barbie, jointly with our daughter ,Kathy, and her new bridegroom, Denny Gillett, are there now as: "Managers, handymen, maids and whatever". Their "Welcome "Wel-come Mat" is out, and they're anxious to get acquainted in their new home. Please feel free to stop in to sr.y "hi". (They're just a wee bit homesick) Sure hope they've got the coffee pot on and ready for you!!! Bud & I will be there to help them with the repairs etc. as often as we can get away. Our first trip will be for two weeks in March (leaving here on the 17th). In the meantime, we'll have to content ourselves by reading every word of The Park Record each week (honest!) , and spending a fortune on phone calls to our kids (we're homesick home-sick for them too!). There!!! I feel we're all better acquainted already! Bea & Bud Dinger (Yes! There will be another Bea in town) |
