| Show ORDINANCE ordinance prohibiting gracing picketing and running at large of cattle horses mules sheep goats and swine upon the public broadi and i highways of weber county the board of county commissioners of weber county ordains as follows section 1 every person owning or having charge of any cattle horses mules cheep goats or swine is hereby prohibited from grazing picketing permitting or allowing said animals to run at large upon the public roada or highways of weber county sec 2 every so owning or having charge of any cattle horses mules goats or swine who shall allow or permit such to graze picket or run at large upon the public roads or highways of weber county shall forfeit and pay to weber county the sum of one dollar for each licad of cattle horses sheep mules goats or swine so grazing picketing or running at large upon said roads or highways which shall be a lien upon said animals and ib shall be the duty of the road supervisor of each road district to impound all such found picketing grazing or running at large upon the roads and highways within each of their respective districts sec 3 immediately upon impounding all such animagi ani mali it shall be the duty of the road supervisor so impounding bucl animals to notify the owner thereof if known either personally or by registered mail of the impounding of such animals and the amount of the penalty due thereon and that if the same are not within five 5 dagg from the service of such notice such animals will be sold to satisfy such penalty and the costs of sale and the expenses of keeping said animals sec 4 in case the owner of such animals is not known it shall bo the duty of said supervisor to post notice aforesaid in 3 conspicuous places within said district which notice shall describe such animals with reasonable certainty and state the amount of such penalty and that if such animals are pot redeemed within five 5 days from the posting of notice the sama will be sold to satisfy said penalty together with costs of sale and the expenses of keeping said animals sec 5 if said animals are nofa redeemed within said time the eaid supervisor shall fell ane at public auction to the highest bidder for cash and out of the proceeds pay first the costs of making said sale and the expenses of keeping said ani malsi and second the penalty which shall be paid into the county treasury and third if there be adv surplus remaining pay the same to the owner of said animals if known and if not known and the same is not claimed within six C months pay alie same into the county treasury for the benefit of the county sec C in case notice bo given by registered mail the service of said notice shall bo deemed complete on the mailing of such notice sec 7 all ordinance a and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed passed by the board of county commissioners at a meeting held on april 7 1902 SEAL LYMAN chairman pro tern of board of county commissioners of weber county utah attest c pv county clerk of weber county utah and ex officio clerk of board of county commissioners of said county dated april 7 1902 v state of utah A agg county of weber T C n hollingsworth county clerk in and for weber county utah ind clerk of the board of county commissioners of said county do hereby certify thai the above and foregoing is a full true and correct copy of nn ordinance entitled an ordinance pro grazing picketing and running at large of cattle horm sheep goats and swine upon the public roads and highways of weber county passed by the board of county Commission cra of said county on the ath day of april A D 1002 as said ordinance appears of record in my omee I 1 do further certify that at the meeting of said board held on eau day commissioners lyndin skeen and willian G acro present and that upon the final passage of said ordinance commissioner lyman voted aye and william 0 voted aay witness my hand and official binl nf fixed hereto tah ath day of april A D 1002 0 R aloi county clerk of weber county and ex officio clerk of baird of county commissioner of nid county |
