independent TELEPHONE EXCHANGES chicago april 8 A convention of tho interstate telephone association will bo held at the sharman house on april 0 10 and 11 ine association ia composed of the independent telephone exchanges in the states of illinois wisconsin michigan indiana kentucky missouri and iowa according to the inter ocean the expectation pec tation is that before the meeting adjourns all the smaller telephone companies in the country will have been merged at yesterday the interstate company placed on record a deed ot trust for this amount of securities will be on hand at the meeting to dixs held tomorrow which ia called for the purpose of apportioning the new bonds in exchange for capital stock of alic exchanges involved in the transaction at a banquet to be given representatives of the companies compan iea in the association tomorrow night st is expected covers will bo laid for one thousand guests
