Show CONVENTION' OF RELIGION CLASSES One of the best conventions ever held in this city. In a church capacity, capa-city, was that of the "Religion Classes" of V.'eber, North Weber, and Ogden stakes held Sunday. In the Weber We-ber Academy and Tabernacle. A pleasing and notable feature was the presence of so many stake and ward authorities, among whom Prcsl dcnis Shurtliff, Middleton and Wat-sou Wat-sou of Weber Slake, President Evans of Ogden Stake and President Bluth. of North Weber Stake and a number of high counsellors and bishops. Two working sessions were held lu tho Weber Academy where many questions ques-tions of Interest to the Religion Classes were discussed elicltlncr from the bodv of workers many Ideas and explana't'ons which. In their nature, will bring about a better understanding understand-ing of the work and great possibilities of usefulness the organization has before it. ' An excellent poper on "Methods of Securing Activity in True Religion," wan rend by May L Shlpp of the First Ward, which occasioned about forty-five forty-five minutes' discussion under the tact ful leadership of Elenor Guyman 01 North Weber Stake. William A. Morton and James K King of tho general board of Religion Re-ligion Classes were In attendance and followed the proceedings with much Interest, always ready to add their advice ad-vice and testimonv much to the en-llvenment en-llvenment of the Bubject and edification edifica-tion of those present. Encb of these brethren addressed the workers on matters of Importance to the Religion Class work in a manner which secured the closest attention. Presidents Evans. Shurtliff, Bluth and Watson made abort addresses, glv ing words of encouragement to the workers and adding their testimony to the usefulness of the Religion Clas. P,e aides congregational singing under the direction of the Ogden Stake Religion Re-ligion class eboiisfer, two solos and a quartette were well rendered. The eveninc; session was held In the Ogdcn Tabernacle where the visiting visit-ing brethren occupied the time speaking speak-ing to an appreciative audience. James E. King explained the system of Religion Re-ligion Class work and the great bene-llts bene-llts derive I by children who attend. P.rother William A Morton kept the audience In a state of expectancy and delight throughout bis discourse. In his tactful way, he praised those who were doing their duty and censure 1 the slothful anil yet retained the good will of all. People will go miles to hear Mr. Morton tell them of their faults ami go away pleased at the way he does it. He certainly gave the Religion Re-ligion Class a boost and many parents par-ents were there to hear him. Four numbers of inspiring vocal and instrumental music were furnished by some of the best of the three stakes. |
