Show FOOTBALL SQUAD RETURNS HOME Although somewhat stiff and soro as a result of their exertions at Salt Lake Saturday afternoon, the members mem-bers of tho Ogden high school football foot-ball squad were ablo to bo on tho streets last night and receive tho congratulations con-gratulations of their frlcnos and supporters. sup-porters. And Ogata in general is extending the glad hand of congratu-i congratu-i latlon to tho boys who wero able to bring- bak from Salt Lako something some-thing more substantial than excuses. ex-cuses. Tho team and a large number of the fans did not return from Salt Lake until 5 o'clock yesterday morning. morn-ing. They remained in Salt Lako for the senior class dance, intending to return on the D. it R. G. train leaving that city at 10:30 o'clock, but tho train was delayed and consequently consequent-ly the tired but happy bunch did not loach this city until the milkmen were making their rounds. Not a member of the Ogden team was seriously injured during the gamo. Captain Stone was "knocked out" during dur-ing the scrimmage, but recovered and was ablo to continue in the gamo. Anderson sustained an injury to a knoo, but is able to walk without aid. Other than this the members of the team sustained only slight cuts rnd bruise. The boys feci vory grateful to Dr. Worrell, who accompanied them to Salt Lake and gave every member of the team caroful medical attention whenover such services were needed. Dr. Worrell is one of the most staunch supporters of the Orange and Black, and not one of the several hundred rooters were more elated over tho victory vic-tory than he. In view of the fact that no momber of the team was seriously Injured, all will havo entirely recovered by next Saturday, when tho squad returns to Salt Lako to play a return gamo with the U freshmen. As a result of their victory yesterday tho boys feci confident con-fident that they will be ablo to win back the honors lost to tho freshmen in the game bore a week ago. |
