With the publication pub-lication of .the government's wireless directory, just out, some idea Is gained o:' the extent to which the wireless is now used. In this directory, perhaps I be most extensive in existence, Hicre are l."20 stations. This total Includes shore station and ships, but does not tt ke into- consideration the worships of foreign governments, nor are listed tho hundreds of pta'ioiis equipped and operated by amateurs. The directory is the work of the bureau of steam engineering of the l uited States navy. There are about Tei) shore stations "scattered about the glebe. Of this number SS are on the Atlantic and Oulf coasts of the United States. 48 on the Great Lakes, fil ou the Pacific coast and 16 in Alaska. In the list of merchant vessels, such as steamships, tugs, vachts, etc., S21 rc listed in uil parts of the world. |
