Show CONCRETING CANAL IN CANYON K. P. F.lllson, president of the Dav-ls-Weher Counties Canal company, returned re-turned I his morning from a trip over Nevada and will make an Inspection trip lo the bis Irrigation ditch tomorrow tomor-row morning. It is the phm of Mr El P son and Chief Enulm-er YV. M. Bo-Maph to Inspect In-spect the canyon and to have the canyon can-yon work started at once. The work which Is necessary In Weber canyon consists In moving ln.O.H) tons of rock. At one point u projecting; ledge of granite, estimated to v.e:g'n 1 .Soil tons, will he bh.wu into the river with one blast of powder. The most difficult part of the engineering work will be encountered in building the canyon part or tlie canal. While the bed of the dllch Is of solid rock at this point, the ruck is so poronsed thai Tnueh of the water p.nnks through and finds ltd way back lo the river. To eliminate this loss, the canal will have lo ho concreted its entire length although, to the casual observer, the rocky sides and bottom would be sufficient to h ld the water. In the Inspection trip, Messrs. Ellison Elli-son and Uoslaph will b? accompanied by several members of the engineering engineer-ing staff. |
