Rolapp ond H II. Spencer and alio Jos. l Smith, of Salt lake. The company com-pany has its headquarters In this city After searching the world ov r for the best material, tho wood of Oicgon j fir was selected for the building of j the decks of the big ocean greyhound. I The order for 2,000,000 feet was fclven and a search has been made for the finest and stralghtest grained timber In tho great northwest forest region. This timber is being sawed at the company's three mills .located at la-gilos, la-gilos, Hood River and Baker City, Oregon, and shipped to Portland, where it Is allowed to thoroughly dry. The lumber will then be loaded tnt- one of the largest Germany sailing vessels and transported direct to tlie shipbuilding yard at Hamburg. The amount of lumber In thl3 order may seem enormous for the use to which it Is to bo put, but some idoj of the great aera of tho "EuropaV decks may be gained from the statement state-ment thot the ship will meosur. 9 0 feet In length and 91 feet width.
