Show 'LEHMANN JiT Are Honored by President Presi-dent Talt With High Appointments Washington, Dec. 3 Announcement Announce-ment was made at the White house today of the appointment of Frederick Frede-rick W. Lehmann of St lxuls to be solicitor general of the United States, to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Lloyd W. Bowers. Mr. Ixiimann was lorn in Prussia Prus-sia in 1S3J. He was graduated from Tabor college, Iowa, in 1S73, and was admitted to the bar that year. For the last 20 years Mr. I.ehinunn has ' practiced law in St. Louis. He is president of the American Car association. asso-ciation. Senator Ellhu Root of New York was today appointed permanent arbitrator, ar-bitrator, representing America, at The Hague tribunal, succeeding the late Chief Justice Poller of the su ! preme court, who held that honor. The appointment was announced at j the White house by President Taft. |
