When seen by a Stand ird repoiter last nuh I Mr. Jensen was lying in bed in his room at the Mealy hotel, badly .shaken up and sutferlng from bruises on the chest and a flesh wound on the righankle. Mr. Jensen was" -depressed us to the outcome of the automobile ride, and expressed the eloeppfi regret over the accident. "We were running not more than twenty miles an hour." he stated, "and I had the machine under complete com-plete control at all tlmes. The road at the point of the accident was ru-Ked ru-Ked and deep In heavy dust, making the traveling difficult in spots. Wheel Struck a Hole. "As we rounded a sllizht curve In the road, tho machine skidded slight ly to the ri'ht, ami, as I straightened It out. the left front wheel sunk into a hole. There was a snap and a grind and I lost trace of thv happenings happen-ings for the moment. "In the confusion, 1 lost my senses. I recovered my thoughts, found the machine on top of me the rear wheel resting on my chest wl'h the full welsht of the automobile and the f-tub end of the front axle pinioning my feet to the earth. Caught Under the Machine. "I called for -assistance, but there was no one In sight, so 1 exerted all my strength and managed with difficulty diffi-culty to raise the rear of the machine and freed my chest. It was then easy to release my feet from the broken front end. "I looked around, but at first could see no one. On the opposite side of the machine was Lochhead in a very bad shape. Sanderson could not be seen. I thought surely must be deud, but in a minute he came walking walk-ing down the road from the point where he had Jumped." Did Not Realize Extent of Injuries Mr. Jensen said that he did not realize the extent of Iochhead's In Juries until he learned that the latter lat-ter was dead. He expressed great sympathy for Mr. Iyichhead s wife and family. Mrs. Jensen who was holding ber little eirl in her lap at the bedside also sympathized, in a broken voice, with the widow and children of the dead man.
