Show CONDEMNING TWO ICE PONDS The question of the kind of Ice the people of Ogden shall have this winter win-ter is now being considered by the city board of health, the first stop be-ing the examination of the ice ponds from which the ice will be taken. Sanitary Inspector Poulter examined the Knds during the week ami also Investigated the source of water supply sup-ply for the ponds, the result being that oil the ponds, except two, are reported in sanitary condition and the water supply pure. The Inspector states that the two ponds not In good condition may be condemned pormanetly, inasmuch as it Is thought to be quite Impossible to ever put them In condition for use. The water supply cannot be Improved In these places and it id considered out of the question to permit Ico to be taken from the ponds and placed upon the market. The health officers are determined that the city shall have the very best of Ice next summer and they say that under the Improved condition of nearly near-ly all of the Ice ponds It is certain that this will be accomplished. Some new ponds have been built during the summer and they have been constructed In accordance with the sanitary legulations of the city. |
