Dee Memurlal Hospital association Liet last evening and transactc 1 business busi-ness pertaining to 1 lie new $100,000 hospital donated to the public by the members of the Dee family and which is soon to be formally opened. Tho members of the board in attendance at-tendance at tho meeting last evening were Mrs. Thomas Dee, wife of the lote Judge; R. B. Porter, Mrs. R. B. Porter, Rev. P. N. Cushnahan, Dr. R. S. Joyce, Judge H. H. Rolapp, John Uatson, John S. Lewis an J William Glasmann. The meeting was held In tho offices of the Amalgamated Sugar company In the Eecles building In addition to the equipment already al-ready purchased, the board last evening even-ing authorized the purchase of linen, l.itchen supplies, some furniture, hardware, hard-ware, supplies for tho medical department depart-ment and other articles to the amount cf several hundred dollars. The total to-tal amount expended for hospital equipment up to the present time exceeds ex-ceeds $15,000. From the amount or equipment already purchased and that vMch was provided for at last night's i-tetting It Is estimated that the ex-1 ex-1 enditure of an additional $5,000 will serve to completely equip the beautiful beauti-ful new hospital. The board also authorized the lay-irg lay-irg of sidewalks and the parking of the hospital grounds. The cost of this will be In additicn to that of the equipment and also apart from the original estimated cost of the building and grounds, which is approximately $100,000. Much to the disappointment of the board. It was found impossible to fix the date of the formal opening. A committee was appointed, however, to arrange the details of a public opening and the plan of this committee will Le submitted at the next meeting of the board, at which time the dato will be definitely fixed. The directors received a report that the building Is fast nearing completion. comple-tion. The sidewalks, both Inside and outside the hospital grounds, have l en ordered, and at the next meeting cf the city council there will be a petition pe-tition introduced for hydinnts and electric arc lights In the grounds. Much of the equipment for the hospital hos-pital Is already In the building, and the remainder is arriving In the city daily. At last night's meeting the board learned that the following firms or organizations had agreed to furnish private rooms or wards: Relief soci elies of the Ogden. Weber and North Weber stakes; Wright & Sons. S J: Purt & Bros. Rev. P. N. Cushnahan and G. L Becker. These. In addition addi-tion to the endowments already mentioned, men-tioned, complete the furnishing of 23 piivate rooms. 40 beds In the wards and quarters for IS nurses. A feature of the equipment of the rew memorial hospital will be an Otis futomatic elevator, operated by elee triclty and by means of push but tns. This is the newest development develop-ment in the line of passenger elevators eleva-tors and requires no operator. The ccst of the elevator is included In the original cost of tho building. |
