Show SALT LAKE COMPANY TO CLOSE BIG DEAL Salt Iwike, Feb. 13. For practically three-quarters of a million dollars, the J. P. Paulson company Is now rlosiug a big commercial and realty deal, whereby the Bunswick-Bnlke Collender company of Chicago and New York will acquire all of the Paulson holdings In Salt Lake, including tho new factory at 130 South Fourth West street, recently completed. The deal Is one of the biggest in realty and Industrial circles of this winter and contemplates the passing of an old and established firm in Salt Lake. The Paulaon company manufactures manu-factures pool and billiard room .and bar fixtures, and has been agent for the Brunswlck-Balke-Collender company. com-pany. Nels Paulson, treasurer and general gen-eral manager of tho Salt Lake industry, indus-try, 9ald last night: "The deal is being be-ing arranged by J. P. Paulson, who has moved to Denver. He is handling hand-ling it, and aside from saying that the Britnawick-Dalke-Collender people will take over our plant, 1 cannot now give any details." The price, however, Is known to be about $750,000. The deal means that several hundred hun-dred men will be employed at tho factory In the manufacture of pool and billiard tables, supplies and equipment, equip-ment, and that instead of shipping these supplies In from the east, the Brunswick firm will manufacture thorn on the ground, save tho freight and tack the saving on the profits or cheapen the price of their output. The new plant built by the J. P. Paulson company Is one of the best equipped In that linG of business between be-tween Chicago and the coast. It was so thoroughly fitted for the manufac ture of supplies when erected and put Into operatioi by the Paulson company com-pany that few changes v. ill be needed when the Brunswick people take hold. J. P. Paulson has built up a big business In his line in Salt Lake, holding hold-ing forth for years at 170-171 West Second South street. That place, it is understood will be retained by the Brunswick firm as a wholesale and retail houee, Mr. Paulson, who Is president of the company, has established a similar business In Denver azi spends all of his time with the ind istry there. |
