Ignited, according accord-ing to the suspicion of -the authorities, authori-ties, by fofflo incendiary, the mammoth mam-moth receiving reservoir of tho Standard Oil company at Richmond, Contra Costa county, caught fire this morning at 1 o'clock and practically the entire population of that place Is engaged in attempting to confine tho flames to one spot. The large reservoir, which hoMs 350 barrels of crude oil, 13 the end r.f the pipe line running from the company's com-pany's wells in Bakersfleld to Richmond, Rich-mond, where the company's refinery is situated. Traffic on the overland Santa Fe. tracks, which run past the reservoir, has been suspended, it being impossible impossi-ble to run trains through the lnt?nso heat. The sky is darkened with tbj deuse smoke, and it is feared that should the fire spread, tho ontlio plant, valued at JS.OiW.OOO. may b destroyed.
