Railroad Officials Act Quickly After Investigating the Cause of the Accident of Tuecday. A committee of railroad officials met iast evening and placed th responsibility respon-sibility for the wreck on the Oregon Short Line at tle Twenty-sccon 1 street crossing yesterday morning on Conductor H. V. Logan and .Motor-man .Motor-man Lee Chase, who had charge of the motor car, and recommended that the) be dismissed from tho service of the Oregon Short Line. The board of Inquiry which met last evening, made the following roport: Ogden. Utah. Feb 8, 1910. "We. the undersigned, bourd of Inquiry, In-quiry, convened at Ogden, Utah, at 7 : 1 j p. m., Tuesday, February S, 191.1, to Investigate and plar-e responsibility responsibil-ity for accident at Twenty-second St. crossing, Ogden, at S : 17 a. ni., this date, between No. 121. motor car 470, in charge of Conductor Igan, Motor-man Motor-man Case, and train No. 24, engine S7C, lu charge of Conductor Waterman, Water-man, Engineer Hatch, and Fireman Huffman. Nos. 131 and 24, being north and southliound O. S. L, Utah division divis-ion trains. "The entire committee first visited point where accident occurred and find that tho accident which resulted In slight injuries to mall clerk and sixteen passengers was caused by No. 131, which had a meet with No. 2 J at Ogden. pulling out of Union Depot yard proper, Intending to go to town track, the switch for which Is located just north of the Twenty-serond ftreet crossing, and backing in there, to meet No 24 without duly protect ing themselves.
