Show THE STAY-AWAYS. I don't wonder that husbands and pons sometimes stay away from home. In fact. I wonder that some of them ever go back. A woman is In a very good position to know Just how women wo-men do at times, and some of the home "ptmosphcres" are anything but celestial, ce-lestial, all because of wrangling that seems to live and thrive in so many homes. It is unpleasant to be In a house where women are always cross always and always, so that not a blessed thing seems to please them. It is not very' pleasant for a tired man to go home to anything like that, and not many do It. It Is so easy to. eat oyster soup down town and escape I that supper harangue at home. We all lose our temper once In a while, but every woman nbould keep a search warrant in her pocket and find It before be-fore the family comes home. It Inn t always possible to have the dove of peace in the hoii8 but who wants a ivagple chattering to the motto "Home. Sweet Home." that doleful rhapsody of Poe's: "Nevermore, no nevermore?" never-more?" And when it reaches the nevermore stage, then husbands, sons, daughters and friends stay away; no one calls but the collectors, and they don't want to. |
