Show WESTBOUND TRAIN WRECKED NEAR ECHO. A west bound train load of coal was wrecked yesterday morning near Echo, on the Union Pacific, which blocked passenger and freight traffic both ways during the entire day. All east bound trains were held in the Ogden yards during the day, It being 6:30 o'clock last evening before they were released. Trains going west were held at Echo and did not arrive in Ogden until 8 o clock last evening. Just what damage was done could not be learned here last even-lug, even-lug, but It was authoritatively given out that no lives were lost and no one was Injured. Wrecking crewg were promptly sent to the scene of the accident an.l they worked assiduously all day clearing away the wreckage. The cause of the wreck could not be learned last night. It Is said that there ware ten heavy gondola cars loaded with coal in the w reck and that the smashup must I have boon of considerable moment. |
