The party occupied the private car of Superintendent Manson, and Traveling Travel-ing Freight Agent P. H. Cook of the Harrlman system acted the agreeable part of host. The trip was extended to Lucln and the inhabitants of that little burg were charmingly entertained entertain-ed by the visitors with athletic performances per-formances in the way of running races, jumping contest, shooting matches and tall and lofty acrobatic feats of a clrcusonlan nature., One of the Interesting events of the occasion was a sprinting contest between be-tween Mayor Brewer. Commissioner Madson and P. H. Cook, an.l, while the race was won by the latter, the prise was awarded Mayor Brewer for the artistic ar-tistic manner In which he turned a double sommersault . when reaching the goal. . Owing to heavy winds the lake was rough, the great waves rolling over the trestlework. and to ward off and prevent pre-vent anything akin to Heasickness, Dr. Cook prescribed stimulants of a substantial sub-stantial and yet pleasant nature, and the wide variety included everything from Becker's best to champagne with a few bottles of clear and sparkling spark-ling water from Taylor Canyon creek as a chaser. .
