Show SOLONS' TRIP TO LUCIN WAS PLEASANT OUTING. Mayor Brewer. Councilmen Thomas, Peery, Dana, Wilson, Flygare and Austin, with a few Invited guests, junketed across the lake to l.ucin yesterday, yes-terday, returning late in the afternoon. The purpose of the trip, as explained by some of the solons, was to use the annual passes held by the members of the council and the mayor, and to see the great cut-off, which Is designated desig-nated as the handiwork of the most J eminent railroad engineers known, i Some of the councilmen had not yet seen the span of steel across the salt waters I The company gratefully accepted the courtesy of Superintendent Man-son, Man-son, who teudered them the use of his private car. The trip was quite uneventful so far as the casual observer ob-server was concerned, but a genuinely pleasant outing was had and the solons returned home much gratified that they had seen the famous piece of road. Councilman Thomas took bis rifle along, but, according to the statement state-ment of Peery, nothing was shot. AH members of the party disclaimed any deep seated plot, either ou their part or that of the railroad company, In taking the trip. They stated that it was sjmply a day's outing for inno-ceut inno-ceut pastime. |
