It is expected that the general deficiency de-ficiency bill will be ready for consideration consid-eration by the house when tho sundry sun-dry civil bill is disposed of. Tho river riv-er and harbor bill has already passed the house under suspension of the rules. Undoubtedly the house, will be able beforo the close of the session, to dispose dis-pose of all the appropriation bills, and the outlook in the senate is mucn brighter than it was a week ago. During Dur-ing the past week, the senate put behind be-hind it the postomee, the naval, the pension, the army and the Indian bills, and It will be prepared to go on this week with the diplomatic and consular, consu-lar, the agricultural and other appropriation appro-priation bills. The river and harbor bill may bo talked to death. The senate will, on Tuesday, consider con-sider and vote on the bill providing for the re-enlistment of tho negro soldiers who were discharged on account ac-count of the Brownsville riot, and Saturday will be given up entirely to eulogies of members of the congress who have recently died, including tho late Senator Latimer of South Carolina, Representative Powers or Maine, Representative Wiley, Alabama. Alaba-ma. Representative Meyerc, Louisiana, and Representative Beck of Indiana The entire day Tuesday will be given to the Brownsville bill. Senator Carter will continue his efforts ef-forts to procure action on the postal savings bank bill. There will be a strong effort to get the Arizona and New Mexico statehood bill out ot committee with the hope of passing It during tho last days of the session, but the present outlook is not promising. BOTiiSES TO CROWD STEAM For Last Spurt of Business During the Present Congress. Washington. Feb. 21. Both houses of congress thl6 week will begin to crowd on steam for the last spurt of the prosent congress. After the close of business next Saturday, there will remain only three days for legislation, legis-lation, and It Is realized that it will be necessary to get practically all of the appropriation bills through both houses before that time, as most of the remaining days will be necessary for the adjustment of tho differences between the two houses.
