The first response to tho offer of the Lincoln Centennial Memorial to allow the public lo contribute con-tribute to the expense fund of tho celebration' cel-ebration' comes from J. G. Vlttltoe, a motorman. who has contributed $1, with the following explanation: "I was born in Kentucky in the same county as Abraham Lincoln. I knew him when I was a boy and I am j fcoing back to tako part in the Lin-1 coin celebration there. I have been utked to make a talk. But 1 want to chow my appreciation as to what Chicago Chi-cago is doins to honor Lincoln and ask you to accept this dollar." ' |
