In justification of his alleged deadly knife assault upon Pendleton, October 2C, 1903. Hansen filed a sensational answer to Pendleton's suit for damages for personal per-sonal injuries, alleged to have been sustained by reason of the assault, in the district court Tuesday, In which he charges Pendleton with despoiling, or attempting to despoil, his seventeen-year-old daughter, Agnes Hansen, and sets this up as excuse and justification for the assault upon Pendleton. Hansen sets out, in his answer, that his daughter was a student in the high school and should have been at school on the date of tho alleged assault, as-sault, but says that she was not at school and that he was reliably Informed Inform-ed that Pendleton had lured her away from home and school to some part of Salt Lake City, unknown to him. for the purpose of debauching, defiling and ruining her. |
