Show PNfilNFFIl DIES IN WRECK i Derailment of Train s Work of Cowardly Wreckers Monroe, La,, March 11. As a result ; of tlie work of train wreckers, the southbound express on the Arkansas, Louisiaua and Gulf railroad was derailed de-railed twenty miles north of this city shortly before midnight last night. Engineer C. W. McDaniel was killed kill-ed and Fireman J. 13. Gowan seriously hurt. No passengers were among the injured. An Investigation showed that a switch had been thrown and spiked while the signal light had been turned so as to show white. The train was bound from Little Rock, Ark., to Monroe, Mon-roe, and was traveling at a rapid rate. |
