Belslto, a prominent member of the New York Italian colony, will go to Washington today to confer with the Italian ambassador with regard to new legislation in Italy, requiring that passports be accompanied by photographs photo-graphs of the holder. Criminal Italians, Ital-ians, it 13 said, often procure passports pass-ports by questionable means, and, evading teh Italian authorities, get aboard ships and land In New York. The passports are supposed to give a fairly accurate description of the bearer, bear-er, but if a photograph is attached, there Is les3 likelihood of them being used by any one except .the rightlul owner. |
