That a boycott of American goods under the guise of cnfoi cement of a "pure food law," has been started In Japan, is tho statement of . a weekly newspa- per published at Yokohama, accord- , lug to mall advices received here. The paper says: "For some unexplained reason, ex- j cepting that action has been taken i under the 'food law,' Japan ottlclals, backed up by police olllcers, have been calling upon foreign and native grocers gro-cers and confiscating their stock or certain brands of goods. Strange to i say, the goods confiscated have been j American goods only, and tbe ottl- j clals do not even look at the lirltish. German and French goods that, were j strongly in evidence.
