After a time the noises In the next loom wero heard and again the lights were turned on. The burglars then attempted to break down the door leading to the milliner's apartments, and the young ladles fled out of the front door and aroused the neighbor?. Officers were on the scene within a few minutes, but, although thrco suspicious characters were arrested ar-rested by Officer Thomassen, there was no evidence to connect them with the crime and they were released. The burglaries all occurred between 2:30 and 4 o'clock. At the first named nam-ed hour the fellows were attempting to gain entrance to Sheffield's store. The night operator at the Dell Telephone Tele-phone office, -which Is located over the store, heard them at the front door and frightened them away. BURGLARS IN KAYSVILLE. Several Business Houses Were Raided, But Not Much of Value Secured. Kaysvllle, May 5 A number of tho business houses of Kaysvllle were treated to the periodical raid by burglars burg-lars last night. The Stewart Burton store, tho B. B. Mercantile company's store.Jensen's saloon and Underwood's saloon were all visited and ransacked, but so far as can bo learned there was not much of value taken. In each place the burglars beemed to have been bent on finding money. Cash drawers wore broken open and rifled, but bv yond some small change no money was missed. The saloons lost some liquor, It is thought, and from Jensen's saloon, a Smith & Wesson revolver was 6tolen. The Stewart-Burton company com-pany missed a pair of shoes At the B. B.
