Show MARCHERS PROTEST LANDIS WAGE CUT ' International News Service. CHICAGO, April 29. With bands playing and flags waving, thousands of trade unionists, the majority of them members of the Chicago building build-ing trades, with their families marched through the downtown streets late today in protest of the "Landis award" and the activities of the "citizens committee" to enforce It. The award, made by former Federal Judge Keneaa,v M- l-andls. cut the wages of the men. ' Would Landis work for 95 cents on hour?'' asked one banner carried in the parade Another said; "Landis raised his salary and cut ' ours " Samuel Compere head of the American Amer-ican Federation of Labor, addressed the working men. |
