Show ll I By LADY DUFF-GORDON K ("LUCILE") a ffTTORNTNG, afternoon and evening comprises the 't'rio'of Jk 1YI fashion, each few splendid hours demanding its own costume. The morning costume must be simple. The afternoon JB costume may be fussy to any degree. But the frock that evening demands is permitted to run the riot of color and line for the young girl. Here, then, is a charming little morning costume to be rworn with or without the cape, as the weather may demands 1 The simple hat of blocked velour will brave any storm and ''l Still keep its line. For afternoon, one may choose the frock of satin crepe ;w of which the dressy model is fashioned. Diagonally across the lower edge of the Russian blouse there runs a Gride bias h&Mt&at accentuates.the slen.tlgQifittjS thejsyearer. .The hem line of the foundation skirt tascur perky tunic at one hip and runs upward in parallel to f?; 0 pf.. it. The upper part of the blouse is designed of sheer georgette crepe in a matching shade, allowed to float its own way into the loose mandarin sleeves, claiming a relation to the frock only by split cuffs of bias satin that match tunic skirt. Chic indeed are the touches given by the sparkling jet girdle and the fussy hat that was designed especially for this gown. Taffeta and old lace seem but touched by the magic wand of fashion s fairy to assemble into the bewitching evening creation. The bodice is quite simple. So is the line of the viry full, long skirt. But the patches of old lace and the ribbon rib-bon edged fluting that sprays down the front from the waistline, waist-line, aie the tuuche that make it tairy-hke.. This taffeta frock on bouffant lines is a type essentially I youthful in effect, Whether it be perfectly plain, with a cleverly clev-erly managed puff here and there, or whether it finds variation by way of dainty lace insets, it is the frock for the young girl.1 For Summer dinner and dance wear, taffeta and soft chiffon chif-fon will vie with each other for popularity. Any young debutante de-butante would tire of frocks all taffeta or all chiffon but a few frocks of each make the necessaW interesting contrast, and solve the Summer evening' dress problem. Pastel shades are t most generally Pavored and they are equally lovdy in cjap taffeta or soft chiffon. They range from blue and orchid t0 pale yellow and deeper shrimp tones, J |
