Show Porter Given Sixty Days in County Jail After4 litigation extending" over a period of several weeks, Joseph Porter, found guilty on a charge of obtaining moneyun der false pretenses yesterday, was sentenced to 6m days in the county jail this morning. The affair is not settled definitely, however. Attorney Charles Farra representing Porter, having hav-ing declared tbaX he will appeal the case and, if necessary, take it before the supreme court. Porter was originally arrested on a i harge of operating a. confidence game This charge was dismissed. He was then arrested on a charge of having liquor in bis possession. Three juries were empanelled, but Porter was found not guilty, in the third case, no Jury was called. Porter was fuund guilty and was sentenced. |
