Show AMERICAN LEGION -Jk' CONVENTION OPENS; ' 3 SESSION AT 2 F. M. Indications that the accond annual American Legion convention will be tho largest yet held in Utah In point of attendance was made evident this morning with the arrival in Ogden of more than 100 delegates from posts in all .parts of Utah and more than 150 legion members. Practically all of the state officers have arrived and tare making preparations for. tho opening open-ing session which was to be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock in the assembly hull of the Ogden hie", school. Practically every incoming train this I morning carried the legion men bound for the convention and immediately upon their arrival here they were met at tho depot by Ogden members who took them to convention headquarters in the University club. Following registration thero (hey were assigned to hotels, rooming houses and private homes where accomodations have ibeon arranged by a local billeting committee, com-mittee, j I j Prepare for Sessions I Hamilton Gardner, state chairman of the American Legion and John E. Ilolden, stale adjutant, arrived early this morning and began preparations for tho holding of tho first session this! afternoon. The program will include addresses by Governor bimon Bamberger, Bamber-ger, Mayor Frank Francis, Hamilton Gardner, John E. Holdon and representatives represen-tatives of tho G. A. R., Spanish-American war veterans, Knights of Colum bus, and Y. M. C. A. -Important matters upon which will depend the future of tho American Lo-gion Lo-gion will come beforo the sessions for discussion among which will be discussion dis-cussion of national legislation seoking tho betterment of conditions for the former soldiers. Pt was announced this morning that tho bill now beforo conjjress soeking bonus for all men who served during j tho war will also bo dlBcussed during tho sessions. The second session of tho convention conven-tion will bo held tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock, with a session following at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Sessions Ses-sions will also be held Wednesday at the same hours. All sessions will ho held in the high school assembly hall. Entertainment Entertainment features have been planned for the visitors during their ,slay hero, among them a dance to br fti held tomorrow night in Lorin Fan fc'i .park.
