Show 1ST CLEAR STREETS; li CSSE OF FIRE WARD HOLES . Relative to the prevention of accidents acci-dents while tire apparatus is' responding respond-ing to calls City Commissioner J. R.J Ward issued the following instruction' bulletin t:.is morning: Instruction Bulletin No. 1. Section GS5, Revised Ordinances Og-, don City, 1915. j "Upon tho approach of any fire apparatus, ap-paratus, police patrol or ambulance ( tho driver of every vehicle shall draw , up as near as possible to the right.1 curb of the street, and remain at a 8 'standstill until such apparatus, patrol h ior ambulance shall have passed." . Upon observing or hearing the fire apparatus approaching, every uniform-' ed officer and plainclothes patrolman will move quickly to the center of the nearest street Intersection, blow a long! loud blast of his whistle, extending his ; arms full length to stop traffic fromj crossing or entering street upon which; such fire apparatus is moving. j If not able to each street intersec-, tion in time, or if there should be an officer already there, then the officer will take position in the center of the j street, blow a long, loud blast of the whistle and direct all vehicles tc thci right hand curb. Signal will be given from the fire) ; apparatus as to which way it will turn.; (by a fireman holding hio arm at full' 'length, right or left. The only exception that an officer l may make to above rule, would be under un-der circumstances wherein ther.e are good reasons for not letting persons know that he is an officer. In case of congestion of streets by vehicles at or near a fire officers will quickly note the numbers of all license plates of automobiles, and the names of horse-drawn vehicles that an obstructing ob-structing such street, reporting, same to police station at first opportunity.
