Show British National Union Threatens Nationwide Strike LONDON, hept 2 -The whol executive ex-ecutive committee of the National Union of Railway Men will participate in the conference to be held this m fining fin-ing with representatives of the government gov-ernment relative to the union's threat' ened nation wide Btrik , according to notification sent to Sir Eri Geudes, minister of transport. An announcement -aid the government was willing to conlinue negotiating with the union, it being declared a misunderstanding ' exist ed Members of the union are now working under an agreement with the government by which the men will continue to draw their wartime wages until December 31 The sudden demand de-mand for an immediate settlement, therefore, came as a surprise and there were hints that the union's action ac-tion was of political significance. Thus greater gravity attaches to that threit which has seriously stirred the public pub-lic and which came ,.s a surprise, not only to the people generally but to many railway centers, where it is asserted as-serted the workers are contented with their present position and stund to gain nothing by the strike.
