Show I RESLLY H IN I OUN SHOOT festerday was the first day of the big registered state tournament billed at the Salt Lake Gun club and the shoot will continue for the next two i days, ending on Wednesday. The j Utah state championship will be decided de-cided tomorrow, as well as several trophy events. Yesterday's shoot found shooters in i attendance from all over the country. Thejjay was somewhat misty and ov-Hjj ov-Hjj ercast, and at times the wind came up and cave the dickies a good high ride, which served to bring out the best there was in the contestans How-ever, How-ever, some of the bets scores ever made over the local traps were regis- Charles H. Redly, Jr , shot In bril- j liant form and was high Run in the 1 regular event, breaking l is out of a possible 150. Reilly continued to shoot through the entire program of 220 targets and did himself proud by smashing 215 out of the 220, making a long run of 157 straight, i G. L. Becker shot in brilliant form. Gus smashed 145 targets out of ICO I in the regular event, and broke 211 out of 220 targets trapped for him. Sam Sharman was another crack who had his eye with him. Uncle Sammie accounted for 144 dead dickies out of 150 in the regular event. In the two-man team race, C. H. Reilly and D. J. Holohan, shooting one at a time, won with a score of 39 out of 40. J. L. Taylor and C. J. Doon, Sam Sharman and E. L. Ford, Archie Bigelow and G, L. Becker, and L. E. Riter and Gail Moffat tied for third place with scores of 37 out of 40. W. H. Mitchell and Harry Heagren, J. P. Cowan and Asher Cowan, Moroni Skeen and S. H. Mills tied for fourth J position with 33 out of 40, and R, T. Barney and Harry Stoney finished in Hj I j fifth place with a score of 32 out of |
