Show Nil RESERVISTS MOST BE REGISTERED The young men who will be of draft age tomorrow and who have recentl enlisted in the naval reserves but have not been called to active duty will be required to register before tomorrow j night, according to a statement made this morning by Chief Carpenter's I Mate B. W. Grey, local recruiting of- fleer for the navy. These men will not be inducted into military service by the local exemption ! board, but will be placed In Class Five D, which is the class of men who have enlisted in the naval branch of the service All men entering the naval reserves v ill be sworn into service of' the United States naval department at Salt Lake and will then be given furloughs fur-loughs to their homes and will be subject sub-ject to call when needed, though an effort will be made to give them at leasl ten cays' notice before taking them to active duty. Those who are already in active duty are not required to register to-1 morrow This order affects only those who have become 21 since the 5th day of last June and are subject to the new rule calling such men to register reg-ister with local exemption boards. |
