Show Brigham Society Mrs. R. L. Fishburn, Jr., and daughter, daugh-ter, Miss Hope Fishburn, entertained with a miscellaneous shower on Monday Mon-day evening In compliment to Mrs. WUford E. Jensen, formerly Miss Mary Clnrk, a bride of recent date. .The rooms were decorated with a profusion of summer flowers and music and games was the evening's pastime. The hostesses served refreshments for twenty -seven guests. Mrs, C. L. Davis of Rupert, Idaho, and Miss Gertrude Smith of Salt Lake are guests of Mrs. J. B. Thomson. Miss Ora Nelson and David Oswald Anderson, both of this city, were united unit-ed in marriage Wednesday in the Salt Lake temple. Tho bride is a daughter of Mrs, Lars P. Nelson and has been a student of the Box Elder high school during the past three years. Miss Nelson Nel-son is possessed of considerable dramatic dra-matic ability and has been prominent in school activities of this nature. Mr. Anderson is a son of Mr. J. N. Anderson Ander-son and is a graduate of the high school. He has also been a student of the University of Utah. Tho young couple will make their home In Brig-ham. Brig-ham. Mr. and. Mrs. Sylvanus Iverson and children of Salt Lake City are spending spend-ing two weeks in this city visiting relatives. Mr. Iverson is employed at tho National bank of the Republic. Fifty-two registrants from Box Elder El-der county will depart from Brigham Monday evening for Camp Lewis. Permanent Per-manent committees were named Monday Mon-day last to take complete charge, in the future, of tho boys leaving for Uncle Sam's training camps, in the way of giving them proper recognition, instruction and entertainment. The commitle6 on Instruction is comprised of Mavor John V. Peters, President S Norman Lee and Attorney B. C. Call, who will act in cooperation with the council of defense. The committee on entertainment is Miss Louise Ingram, Attorney W. B. Davis and Miss Triesto Box. A program is being arranged for the entertainment of the boys prior to their departure and they will also be served with refreshment. Miss Ada Mack of Ogden is spending this week in Brigham visiting her sisters, sis-ters, Mrs. R. L. Fishburn, Jr., and Mrs. F. W. Fishburn. Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Abramson and Mrs. H. Churnlman, Mrs. Abramson's mother of Des Moines, Iowa, returned Tuesday from a two weeks' outing at Lava Hit Springs. Miss Sarah Mathias went to Ogden Wednesday to spend a week visiting her sister," Miss Zlllah Mathias, who is in training at the Dec hospital. Miss Ada Johnson and Mrs, ZIna Jensen entertained on Saturday evening even-ing at the home of their mother, Mrs. Mary Johnson, in compliment to Mrs. Rose Jacobsen of Deerlodge, Mont, who is visiting in Brigham. Games and music were the features of the evening's even-ing's pleasure and the hostesses served serv-ed refreshments for the following besides be-sides the guest of honor: Mesdames Mary Johnson, Meda L. Jensen, H. L. Thorn; Misses Marco Madson, Lola Nichols. Alta Jensen. Louise Horsley. Vera Jensen, Jennie Petersen, Myrtle Davidson, Eflle Webb, Alta Anderson, Rilla Pett. Grace Kelly, Georgia David-son David-son of Logan. Miss Laura Lovendale, county primary pri-mary supervisor, who has been attending at-tending summer school at Berkley, Cal., returned to Brigham on Saturday. City Recorder Noble M. Fishburn spent a week's vacation in Ogden and Salt Lake City visiting relatives, returning re-turning home Monday. Mrs. J. Edward Taylor of Salt Lake City is spending a month in Brigham as the guest of her mother, Mrs. W. O. Knudson. Mrs, Byron Cornia, formerly Miss Thelma Wright, was rendered a parcel par-cel shower Tuesday evening by immediate imme-diate relatives at the home of her parents, par-ents, Mr and Mrs, R M. Wright. Tho young bride returned on Friday from a three weeks' honeymoon trip to Bear lake. Games and music were the evening's even-ing's features and refreshments were served. Those present were Mr. and Mesdames Byron Cornia, R. M. Wright, D. C. Cornia, M. L. Ensign, Brigham Wright, Julius Wright, T. M. Evans, K. C. Wright; Mrs. Amy Wright, .Mrs. A. J. Nelson; Misses Marlam and Helen Evans. Geneva Ensign, Malinda Wright, Mr. Jonathan Wright. Miss Louise Berg of this city and Mr. Martin James Clcary of Ogden were united in marriage Thursday at the homo of tho bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Berg. Miss Berg has been employed as bookkeeper at the Ogden Furniture company for several sev-eral months past. Mr, Cleary is one of the office force at the Ogden postoflicc. Mrs. Ellas Jensen spent the weekend week-end in Ogden visiting her daughter, Mrs. R. L. Harlan. Mrs. Earl Furniss of Ogden returned home Sunday after spending a week in Brigham visiting relatives. Mrs. Furniss Fur-niss was accompanied on her return by her mother, Mrs. D. R, Wright. Mrs. Percy Knudson, formerly Miss Verabell Call, was guest of honor at a miscellaneous shower given Wednesday Wednes-day afternoon by Mrs. William Soron-son Soron-son and her daughter, Miss Evelyn Sorenson. The rooms were adorned with garden flowers and the ladles spent the afternoon with their needlework needle-work and knitting. A buffet luncheon was served" for thirty guests. i The Central camp of the Daughters of tho Pioneers held a business meeting meet-ing Tuesday evening at tho home of Mrs. Jano E. Compton. The ladies decided de-cided to secure a concession on Peach day for the sale of refreshments, the proceeds to go towards paying for the showcases which are being built for tho collection of pioneer relics. The showcases will be completed in the near future and will be placed in the library building. Peach day will bo the opening day for viewing the collection, which the committee assures will be a large and interesting one. Manager W. L. Hoist returned Wed-nesd:iy Wed-nesd:iy from a trip to Bear lal'c, Mont-peller, Mont-peller, Soda Springs and other points in the matter of advertising Peach day. Mr. Hoist stated on his return that he is assured of a large number of visitors from those localities. |
