Show Chairman of National Savings Committee to Return to Duties as Bank President. WASHINGTON. Sept. 9. Frank A. Vanderlip will retire within a few weeks as chairman of the national savings sav-ings committee which has directed the war savings campaign. He again will devote his entire time to duties as president of the National City bank. Other members of the national committee, com-mittee, which will go out of existence, are Henry Ford, Eugene Meyer, Jr., Charles L. Baine of Boston, Mrs. Georgo Bass of Chicago, and Frederic A. DoLano. former member of the federal fed-eral reserve board. Mr. Vanderlip has been developing plans for more direct connection between be-tween the treasury and the war savings sav-ings organization and elimination of his own supervising committee. The central organization which he has built up will continue to function much as heretofore. ' State directors have been asked to meet this week with governors of federal fed-eral reserve banks to work out plans by which the governors hereafter will direct war savings work in their respective re-spective districts. |
