Show i Oncago Quotations t i CHICAGO, Nov. 2S Corn prices weakened today, influenced by prospects pros-pects that enlarged receipts would result from government orders giving precedence to railway shipments of cereals. Selling, however, was not aggressive ag-gressive and it did not take much demand de-mand to bring about a rally. Trading seemed to be almost entirely local. Opening prices, which ranged from tho same as yesterday's finish to c lower, with January $1.201i to $1,20 ind May $1.18 to $1.18. were followed fol-lowed by a moderate general upturn. Oats duplicated the action of corn. Sentiment on the whole appeared to be more bearish than recently has been the case. Big contracts for federal use lifted provisions. The market also felt tho effect of advancing prices at Liverpool. Liver-pool. The present smallness of receipts of corn and the increased strength of oats led afterward to something of an advance in the corn market. Prices closed unsettled, January $1.20 to $1.21 and May $1.1S to $1.19. with the final range of a whole Vfcc off to Vc up compared with yesterday's finish. Assertions that the government had placed an immense order for moats and lard caused the provision market to soar, and cash pork sold at $50, the highest price on record. The government govern-ment order for provisions was said to total 20,000,000 barrels. CHICAGO QUOTATIONS. Open. High. Low. Close.
