Show MEET S MEN New Wage Scale and Working Contract for 100,000 Employes Em-ployes to Be Discussed. CHICAGO, Nov. 28. Consent of the big packers to ineetjrepresentatives of tho stock yards labor unions has been obtained. At a conference to be held in the near future a new wage scale and working contract for 100,000 employes em-ployes in the packing plants in nine cities will be discussed. Recognition of the union is the first point in the union demands, which include the eight-hour day, time and a half for overtime, double time for Sundays and holidays, wage increases of 1 a day over tho amount now paid for the ten-hour ten-hour day and a percentage increase for piece work equal to that secured by hour rates in the same category, equal pay for men and women doing tho same work, no change in tho guaranteed guar-anteed time of forty hours a week now in effect, improved sanitary conditions, condi-tions, abolition of company sick and death benefit associations. oo |
