The situation is said to bo serious. Czccho-Slovak units which have been fighting at Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Ka-zan, Simbrisk. Samara and Orenburg aro imperilled, 120.000 Bolshovik troops having joined the Germans in that region. News comes from Tcho- j llabinsk that the Czecho-Slovaks are ! losing heavily and retreating along tlfc northern front. Ufa, which is one of j the principal concentration points for Czecho-Slovak troops, is threatened! and its loss would be well nigh fatal J to the Czecho-Slovaks at Samara. Discouraging reports aro received from Orenburg which has been supposedly sup-posedly held by the Cossacks.
