Show A HUNCH BRINGS H TO OGDEN CITY Claude Peacock, said to be an employe em-ploye of the stockyards, who was arrested ar-rested yesterday morning by Detective Detec-tive A. B. Jensen and released on bail in tho sum of $50. did not appear in police court this morning when his case was called and the court declared de-clared the bail forfeited to tho city. When arrested. Peacock was talking to a young soldier who was on his way to Camp Lewis from Carbon county and had stopped in a restaurant restaur-ant on lower Twenty -fifth street. The young soldier had offered to pay for his meal in lT. S. scrip such as is provided pro-vided for soldiers enroufe to camps. It se-enis the proprietor of the place did not know much about the scrip and would not accept it until the officer came along and vouched for it. The officer noticed an extremely loquacious tendency in Peacock and decided to place him under arrest on the "hunch." The hunch seems to have been so good It was worth $50 to the city. |
