Show AERIAL WARFARE BY BRITISH FORCE LONDON, Aug. 21 Aerial operation opera-tion by air forces aitachcd to tho British Brit-ish navy during the period between August 15 and 18 aro shown to have been very extensive in an official report re-port issued today by tho admiralty. The statement reads: i "DujMjjg the period from August 15 to August IS, inclusive, royal air force contingents working with the navy have bombed the following mill- ' tary objectives. 1 "Solv.-ay works atZeebrugge; ihe j docks at Zcebrugge; butteries at Wes-tende; Wes-tende; the Ostend dock and airdromes air-dromes at Zeebrugge, Aertcyckc and Aliddelkerke; tho Passachendaele can-al, can-al, the ammunition dumps at Stallhlll, Middelkerko, Lefilnghe and Zcebrug- i ge; the Bruges canal and enemy ship- Ping. ' "Between fifteen and sixteen tons of bombs wore dropped and good results were obtained. Reconnaissance, photographic photo-graphic and anti-submarine patrols havo been maintained. During the course of these operations nine enemy machines have been destroyed and eight driven down out of control. Wo have lost four machines, ono of which landed in Holland; three officers have been wounded. nr |
