Show BS MIT PEACHES TRAVELERS Two travelers, evidently Germans, entered the California market in Og-iden, Og-iden, to purchase supplies. They were buying together and one told the clerk ho wanted some peaches. The other said "da hel-mit peaches." The clerk thinking he said to hell with peaches was in no hurry to wait on them, thinking they would agree among themselves as to what they wanted. Finally the head buyer said ag?4y "da hel-mit peaches." The clerk thought he would help them out, named over several other kinds of canned fruiL Finally the head buyer said, "Ve are in n hurry to catch a train, I said I vant some peaches." the other said "Da Hel-Mit peaches, Hel-mit peaches," pointing to the Helmet Hel-met brand peaches on the shelf. Tho clerk "went over the top." |
