Show I GilllS GETS PHOTOS Promoter Eddie Dallas, who is fo stagp the Al Young-Johnnie Dundee boxing contest in the Alhambra theater the-ater on the night of April 6, has re- :ved a big sheaf of photographs of Dundee and will soon put them on exhibition ex-hibition The photos were sent on ahead by Scotty Monteith. who is at present guiding Dundee's destinies and who, by the way, is considered one of the greatest managers of boxers in the country. Johnnie is shown in all sorts of poses in the pictures and appears to bo "somo" boy. He is built from Iho ground up, with splendid abdominal, chest and muscle development, and every inch of him appears to be competent for. ring pur pose- In one of the photographs he is shown in a fighting pose with 'Les Darcy, the noted Australian heavy-Weight, heavy-Weight, this picture being especially interesting, Dallas has telegraphed transportation to New York for Dundee Dun-dee and his manager and they will come direct to Ogden, according to late advices, having decided to forego Dundee's prospective contest in Den-j ver. This Is good evidence that Young is considered a hard nut to crack and' that Dundee will take no chances ofj being at all weakened by a previous battle. Dallas received a letter from Tommy Walsh, the prominent Chicago promot-j r and manager of boxers, stating that Red Dolan and Joe Sherman could be furnished the Ogden promoter for fu i ture contests. Dolan has been replacing replac-ing Joe Mandot in a number of recent' bouts, and is considered to have made imuit, . : z --- ;ns good a showinc as the Frenchman. Sherman is in the same class, Al Young is working out regularly 'for the coming battle, in order to keep in the perfect condition he displayed when he defeated Young Gilbert His morning work consisted of From six to ten miles on road, four to six rounds I of boxing with sparring partners, 8 ' half hour of bag punching and shadow ; boxing and a half hour of gymnastics. In the afternoon he takes a long walk. |
