Fisher., after having been held in custody since January 29, was brought to trial in the municipal court this morning on a charge of disturbing the peace. lie was found guilty, but the Judge displayed a lenient spirit, in view of the man's long imprisonment imprison-ment and extenuating circumstances that had arisen in his case since his arrest, and gave him a lsu day suspended sus-pended sentence. Fisher's case is one that has puzzled puz-zled the authorities for several months as his actions have not appeared, on . . different occasions, to be those of a rational man On January 29 he ere ated a disturbance at the home of bis parents on West Seventeenth street, then barricaded himself in the house and defied the officers for several hours with a shotgun. He was finally j persuaded to give himself up and since . that time definite court action in his case was deferred several times. Walter Wenler and Jack Sharrock, arrested yesterday for drunkenness, each forfeited $5 bail. S. H. Thor-gaard Thor-gaard and B. Griffin were found guilt? of drunkennes and sentenced to serve live days in Jail. , |
