Show SEEKS A PSION FOB ABE MAJORS SALT LAKE, March 30 Judge J. W. McKinney yesterday presented to Attorney General Dan B. Shields, for transmission to the board of pardons, a petition for clemency in the case of Abe Majors, who is easily the most notorious Inmate of the Utah state prison. Majors is serving a life sentence for the murder of a police officer at Ogden years ago. The killing occurred during dur-ing the attempt of a posse to arrest Majors, who had broken his parole from a reformatory in California. Judge McKinney says that he is familiar fa-miliar with every move that has been made in behalf of Majors xince his incarceration in-carceration in the state prison, and that he believes that he is entitled to a pardon, by reason of his youth and long confinement. He also says that all he asks from the public is fair play and from the board of pardons a careful care-ful hearing of what he has to offer on behalf of Majors. |
