Show Military Forces May Be Called to Quiet Some Rebellious Indians Salt Lake, Jan. 23. Military forces of tho United States may be sent to Bluff, San Juan county, to remove the Indians from that section to the Indian In-dian reserve. The redmen are still In rebellious mood, according to a letter let-ter received at the Mormon church offices yesterday. The letter says that Maj. James McLaughlin, Inspector In-spector of Indian affairs, had been sent from Washington to talk with the Indian leaders and that they flatly refused to consider a move to the nearest Indian reservation Residents of Bluff and adjoining I sections axo watching the negotiations With interest and will not be found unprepared if the Indians take to the warpath, advices from that section state. j |
