Show oo INQUIRY MADE AS TO WOMAN'S MENTAL CONDITION Sheriff DeVine and Deputy Sheriff Oren Hadlock this afternoon detained for examination as to the mental condition con-dition of Mrs. William Hadley, of 1083 Twenty-fourth street, concerning whose alleged peculiar conduct a neighbor of Mrs. Hadley had, complained. com-plained. Mrs. Hadley was questioned by Drs. Eugene H. Smith and Edward L Rich. She said she was past 40 years old, was born In England, and has lived here about 14 years. She has two children. Having replied to the preliminary questions, Mrs. Hadley broke down and cried piteously, refusing refus-ing to tell anything further concerning concern-ing her family or domestic affairs. She said . her father would answer all questions for her. The sheriff and his deputy went to the Hadley home at 12:30 to take her to the court-house for the inquisition. inquisi-tion. They did not succeed in their errand till 2:30 o'clock, because Mrs. Hadley eluded them and went out on Twenty-fourth street, where she was later found. an |
