Show 11 WOMEN ROB A MAN BEHINO A BILLBOARD On complaint of Joseph Waneaker, Ruby Jones, colored, and Grace White were arrested last night on lower Twenty-fifth street, by Detec; fives R. H. Wiootten and Grant Sy-phers. Sy-phers. The Jones voman was booked on a charge of vagrancy and released re-leased on payment of $25 bail. She forfeited bail In the police court this morning. The White woman was booked on a charge of robbery and will be tried at a later date. According to Waneaker, the two women approached him on lower Twenty-fifth street, persuaded him to go With them behind a billboard and, while the Jones woman was talking to him, her campanion pioked his pocket, obtaining $75. He reported tho case to the police and the arrest of the two women followed. The white woman admitted stealing tho purse, but declared that there was only $55 in It, Instead of $76. Clark and John Doe, drunks, were each sentenced to servo five days in jail. A. V, Moore, arrested Monday at 218 Twenty-fourth street, for alleged mistreatment of his wife, forfeited $10 bail. He is charged, with battery. H. A. Alexander, who was arrested last night by Patrolman Shaughnossy for using profane language on the street and In the presence of women, was given a suspended sentence and a wholesomo warning not to repeat the offense. oo |
