Show HAS BEEN RELEASED FROM HIS MISSION Brlgham City, Aug. 9. Elder Hy-rum Hy-rum W. Valentine has been released from tho presidency of the Swiss-German Swiss-German mission, which has Its head-QuartQrs head-QuartQrs in Basil, Switzerland. Mr. Valentino has served as president of that mlsalon rfor five years, and the newB of his release comes as good news to his relatives and friends in L.Jij3genehas been I i with her husband all the time. Angus J. Cannon, member of the bishopric of the Parley's Park ward In Salt Lake, has been chosen as Mr. Valentine's successor, and will depart soon to relieve Mr. and Mrs. Valentine. Valen-tine. Tho extensive improvements planned by the Oregon Short Line in this city are under way, and how that the company has been granted a franchise fran-chise by the city council to construct a spur across Forest street to the Jensen mill, which is a portion of the improvements embraced in the local freight yards, the work will be pushed to an early completion. The grading for all the Improvements has been completed and a track laying crew is now installing a mile extension to tho Malad Valley track, running south of the depot one mile. Thls extension is built to provide better facilities for passing trains, and provides practically prac-tically two miles of double track north and south of the depot,, oo |
