Show Chicago Grain Chicago, Aug. 15. Lower cables and improved weather In the spring wheat country start a rush to sell at the opening of the board of trade today, to-day, with prices 1 3-8 to 2 3-Sc under yesterday's close. September sold at $1.35 to 1.36 and sold up to $1.36 3-4. Buying enme from commission houses hous-es apparently on resting orders. Corn was relatively steady, although al-though off somewhat on better weather weath-er in parts of the southwest. September Sep-tember opened l-8c off at 83c sold up an eighth and then down to S2 3-4c, with the volume of trade small. December De-cember was more active. Export bids for oats were said to be close to the market today. Prices averaged about l-2c lower. September Septem-ber opened 1-2 to l-4c down at 42 1-2 to 42 3-4c, holding steady. The provisions market was dull with priceB 2 1-2 to 20c lower at the opening. v A sensational advance was scored later on crop damage reports, both domestlo and Canadian. December sold to $1.4G 7-8 and closed 4 l-2c higher than yesterday. September closed with a net gain of 4 5-Sc. The corn close was steady, 3-4 to 7-8lo up? |
